Kale and Apple Shake

One of the things that are very unique about Kale is the calorie content. Kale is just 28 Kilo Calories per 100 grams, and when you mix it with the goodness of apples, you get a power packed punch.

Not just that, Kale contains an astonishing amount of Vitamin K, Vitamin C and Vitamin A, and has a bunch of minerals like Manganese and Calcium. This makes Kale one of the best super foods that can be included into your daily diet.

On the other hand, apples are always known as one of the best sources of nutrition known to man.

At about 52 Kilo Calories per 100 gram, this fruit is known for its restorative power, and eating one every day apparently keeps the doctor away from your home.

With high levels of dietary fibers, Vitamin B and Vitamin C, this is yet another fruit that can be easily incorporated into your daily food intake. A simple shake with a bit of honey will make this drink a great option for dieters.


  • 2 cups kale, blanched in hot water
  • 1 apple, cored and chopped
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1 cup almond milk or coconut milk
  • 2 teaspoon honey
  • 1 pinch cinnamon


In a blender, add the kale, cinnamon and honey. Blend together till the mixture is smooth. Add the apple and blend again for 30 seconds, or until the apple is pureed to your liking. At this point, add the crushed ice, almond milk or coconut milk and blend again for 20-40 seconds, depending on how smooth you want the drink. You can also add more honey if you like. Once the blending is done to your liking, pour into a tall glass and serve it immediately. This drink tastes the best when consumed fresh.
